Porcelain decoration is an art that only a few people have mastered to perfection. The monogram, an emblem of one or more interlaced letters, is hand-painted with a brush or pen, in gold or blue. This delicate craftsmanship takes its inspiration from models of interlaced numerals, or princely crowns, established in the 18th century by ornamentalist Jean-Henri Prosper Pouget in his dictionary.
